Questions

Decks & Fencing: common questions

Does a new deck need a permit?

Most new decks in Maryland require a county building permit, and some fences do too depending on height and location. We handle permit applications and inspections when they are required.

Can you repair my existing deck instead of replacing it?

Often, yes. We will check the framing and footings. If the structure is sound, replacing boards and railings can extend its life for far less than a rebuild.

What should I know before adding a fence?

Property lines, HOA rules, and county height limits all matter. We will talk through them during the walkthrough so the fence goes in the right place the first time.
